Tips to Clean Your Baby’s Teeth

Most of the people consider, the babies with milk teeth do not require regular brushing. It is a false perception; your little one is more susceptible to germs with his/her developing immune system. Therefore, dentists in Diamond Bar recommend you to take proper hygienic measures for your baby’s oral care.
The dentists suggest that tooth brushing should be started as your baby gets his/her first pearl poked through his/her gums. However, the method of cleaning a baby’s teeth differs from that of elders therefore, you should adopt the following tips to clean your baby’s natural pearls.

·         A baby needs extra care; therefore, you cannot go with the same tooth cleaning techniques that you use for brushing your own teeth.  For the babies, who are just in process of getting their first set of teeth, you need to use clean, damp washcloth, cotton gauze or even a clean finger.  This will save your baby’s gums and mouth from being wounded. Additionally, you can also use these methods to clean your baby’s tongue.
·         As your baby grows to one year or two, you can start using a toothbrush having extra soft bristles with maximum three lines. Use the toothbrush very gently as it may not harm your baby’s gum line.
·         You cannot use fluoride toothpaste for brushing your baby’s teeth; rather a Diamond Bar dentist recommends to buy mild tooth paste with little taste.
·         As your baby crosses 12 month, you can teach him/her brushing techniques so that he/she could take it as an enjoyment rather than a hassle. You can use more than one brush with different colors and designs.
·         Don’t make it a duty; rather make it a game or fun for your baby, so that he/she could adopt the practice on the regular basis with no resistant.
·         You can even use different toothbrushes with different characters made on them. Moreover, the use of mild and colorful toothpastes with different fruit flavors can also encourage brushing in your baby.
·         Another way to encourage tooth brushing in your children is to make them brush with you. The children are more likely to do what their parents or elders do.
The above-mentioned tips will help you to take care of proper oral hygiene of your baby. This way, keeping your baby’s teeth clean, you can keep him/her healthier and stronger.
